SIX MONTH UPDATE

sixmonths

Age: 6 months old
Weight: 16 lbs 4 oz
Height: 26.5 inches
(Her checkup is the 15th but I didn’t want to wait that long to do this update- we tried weighing/measuring at home so not sure how accurate it is.)

Watch Me Grow:

6months

Milestones: Celia can sit pretty well on her own now. She still topples once in awhile so if I’m not right there with her we use the Boppy pillow for support. She’s also hit the stage where she constantly wants to be learning and exploring. One of my favorite things is how she learned to tip over her bucket of toys to get to them all. And mostly it’s to get to the tags on the toys. She’s obsessed with tags! My mom got her a Taggie blanket with all the cute little tags on the edges and what does she do? Goes straight for the real tag. She’s too funny. OH and this happens-

trouble

one minute she’ll be playing right by my side and then the next she’s across the room. Not crawling. Just slithering and rolling on her tummy. But definitely looks like trouble!

Sleep: Yep. Still sleeping through the night. We’ve got 8pm-8am down during the week with a 1 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon one… our weekend schedule is always a little off though.

Don’t worry, we put her right to bed after this. Just couldn’t resist the cuteness!

Best Moment: Celia spending time with family. It makes me so happy that the people I love get to enjoy and love Celia, too! Here she is with her Great-Great Grandmother.

Worst Moment: Celia might say her bad hair days. Of course I think it’s the cutest thing. Her hair is growing and kind of hard to tame so we’ve been trying little ponytails and pigtails. But at the end of the day (well who am I kidding?- at any given time) it looks something like this…

Eating: We did try some other formulas this month but it seemed to be worse for spit up so we’re sticking with our usual. And we’ve started to introduce her to fruits and veggies! She loves her bananas. I’d say it’s her favorite food so far. We usually give it to her through a teething feeder so she can hold it easily and she just LOOOOOVES it! For vegetables, she’s had sweet potatoes, squash, peas and carrots. She’s still getting the hang of it and usually just swipes the spoon from us and won’t give it back. I’m not kidding. We have to fight her for it. Pretty cute, but pretty messy.

Health: She had her first little cold and it really only lasted a couple of days. She’s 100% better. And getting chunkier! I’ll probably be packing most of her 3 month old clothes away this week. Her jammies are getting pretty snug.

Things I Want To Remember: I want to remember how excited she gets when Daddy comes home. I know that she’ll continue to love that time of day as she grows but right now it’s just the cutest thing in the world and I don’t want to forget it. As soon as she hears the door her head flies to that direction and when she sees him she starts flailing her body and jumping when she’s in my arms, all with the biggest smile and making the funniest little screech. She’s a daddy’s girl for sure! And just have to say- 6 months old?! Has it already been that long? On one hand time is flying, but since I can’t picture my life without her… it’s like she has been a part of me forever. Does that even make sense? Probably not. Happy Half-Birthday Baby Girl!
